Meet the Maker
About the Artist
Hi, I'm Casey, a visual artist and the creator behind the ‘Studio’ side of The Makers Den Farm & Studio. Having grown up in Narrogin, Western Australia, and later returned there, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of art and function, where creativity meets practicality. My journey as an artist started early but was formalised with a BFA from Curtin University in 2013, followed by further studies in oil painting at The Art Academy, Adelaide, in 2019 and 2020.
Through Makers Den Studio, I focus on creating unique handmade crafts and practical items using both traditional techniques and modern technology like laser cutting. This space allows me to merge my artistic flair with the hands-on nature of making products that serve a purpose in everyday life. Whether it's designing custom garden labels, breathing new life into old reclaimed timber, or creating homely decor items, my aim is to bring creativity into every part of your life.
In addition to my work at The Makers Den, my day job sees me working as the Business Manager of Arts Narrogin, a local community arts organisation, where we help connect the community through arts experiences.
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of being a finalist in various art awards, including the Bluethumb Art Prize, Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award and Boynes Emerging Artist Award. My work has been featured in exhibitions across Australia, and I’m proud to have my artwork held in private collections across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and Germany.
